2018 Annual Juried Art Student Exhibit

 

Passaic County Community College, Paterson NJ, Broadway Gallery.

We ended the Spring 2018 semester with the Juried Art Student Exhibit. Fine Arts Program Coordinator, Mary Dajnak and I had over 80 submissions and more than 40 pieces of art on the walls of the Broadway Gallery. More art than we had seen in previous semesters! Proud to have helped frame, curate and give student awards.

Block Print Exhibit

Opening the fall semester, 2018 with the Block Print Exhibit. Using old rolls of recycled wall paper, students in the Graphic Design & Fine Arts Club created a design digitally and transferred the design to a block. We carved the block and rolled ink on that block, then repeated the image. With some guidance, this exhibit was curated by The Graphic Design & Fine Arts club. It's a great example of 'repetition in design' a design concept learned in class.

Double Exposure Project

Passaic County Community College, Paterson NJ. Opening the fall semester 2017 with the Double Exposure Exhibit. Students used two photos and the program Adobe Photoshop to create a digital design (a self portrait) and a high resolution print.  This exhibit was curated by Ardra Vanessa Spector and The Graphic Design & Fine Arts club. It's a great example of 'form and negative space' two design concepts learned in class.
